Very very happy that you diagnosed my problem with my 1997 subzero all fridge 501r…and got it back running properly. Vic diagnosed lots of dust/pet hair covering the condenser…I feel bad that my bad housekeeping(not vacuuming the condenser) was what almost killed my SZ..I am so happy that we are not spending $8000.00 this week for a new one! SAW was an excellent technician! He was polite, careful and very efficient in the repair of our sub-zero wine refrigerator. It’s so nice to have a repair person in our home that we don’t have to worry about scratching our floors or any other possible damage. We have had problems with other repair companies but not ever with Box Appliance! They have excellent quality employees and a very well run company!

Topnoctch quality and professional service from phone pickup to scheduling to the repair work. Robert was extremely knowledgeable of Subzero refrigerators and thoroughly tested the unit before and after the repair work. He also set reasonable expectations on what components may need replacelemt should the problem persists with the stuck thermostor, Happily, his repair work resolved the problem 100% and my unit is as good as new again.

Francisco was great! I could not be more pleased . He wore booties, covered my countertop with a blanket before place the appliance on the counter and was just respectful. Steve Harvey the Technician called ahead to let me know he was arriving ON TIME! He put shoe protection (booties) over his shoes prior to stepping in my house, laid floor protection in front of my ASKO dishwasher and had the unit repaired in 20 minutes! Priceless Service!!

I found George Tillis to be a Five Star employee who continued druing the entire service call to go the extra mile with reviewing my SubZero refrigerator needs. In addition to being courteous, Mr. Tillis was knowledgeable and even completed other caring processes as making sure all the coil and rear plate icing was melted after replacement parts added. Mr. Tillis is a fine young man who displays extensive knowledge in his craft tempered by great attitude. I finally found an expert. Kudos for a job well done!

First time we used your company and we were impressed. Mr. Arias was professional, on time, extremely helpful and competent.
He serviced the refrig and mentioned the cracked handles and explained we were under warranty. He put all new handles on the inside doors. Mr. Arias noticed we have a Wine Refrigerator. He explained to us that by vacuuming the coils it will last longer. He even vacuumed it out for us!

He was extremely friendly, polite and helpful. He called 45 minutes before he arrived, which was on time. He spent an hour cleaning and vacuuming the sub zero refrigerator. He was careful not to let dust go into my kitchen and left the area around my refrigerator as clean as when he arrived.
He saw an error code on the monitor and told me to watch to make sure it didn’t appear again. If it does, call and he will come back to investigate.

Vic Paule did an outstanding job. He explained everything that he was doing, was careful and was very thorough. You could tell that he cares a lot about customer satisfaction and really knows what he is doing. He also was very courteous and had a good sense of humor. He had another technician with him (Ryan) who was equally helpful and courteous. We had a great experience. I asked a lot of questions and got explanations for every question asked. This allowed me to understand why the problem occurred and why his remedy would resolve the issue. Ask for Vic if you want the job done right.

Leo is probably the nicest, most capable field service technician I have ever met. Additionally, he is both smart and knowledgeable. I say this as an engineer who works with field service folks on almost a daily basis. Finally, he also went out of his way to get us some help from SubZero on the bill. A great guy!
As I posted on Yelp… Sometimes you do get what you paid for… Such was last experience with Leo from Box Appliance (BA). Owning a couple Sub-Zero (SZ) appliances, I can say that “when” they operate as designed and engineered they are fantastic; of course they look great too. When, however, they have an issue, especially out of warranty, the “feel good” of owning a SZ can be pretty Sub-par. Parts and repair can be extremely costly. Additionally, as I’ve found out, there are only one or two repair companies that are authorized by SZ for service and repair in the Bay Area. Initially that bothered me but as I came to understand the advantage of SZ’s control, as I have realized with using BA, is that not only do they fully comprehend SZ appliances (experts if you will) they “sometimes” can gain support of SZ to kick in for a portion of the cost of parts or even repair. As I have experienced with other “so called” Sub-zero repair companies, not only are they out of their element, they will NOT be able to attempt ANY support with SZ. In my most recent experience with Leo of BA, from the get-go, was that Leo had a great positive demeanor about him and was not out to gouge me, even though BA’s rates are high-end. Rather I found Leo to be very informative and helpful in assisting me to an eventual parts and repair solution. Again, to be certain, BA’s services are NOT cheap; the same can be said about purchasing SZ appliances. That said, as with most all high end purchases, you will eventually require repair and/or service. The question then becomes, would you bring your Porsche to be serviced at your local gas station? Likely not…if you do call BA, ask for Leo, he gets it!

I was a little concerned about the 2-5 time range not knowing what problems may be encountered. However Robert listened to and notice the ice build up in both freezer compartments, tood food out, undid back panel identified that it was not draining, unpluged drain, poured bleach in drain rechecked things, cleaned out condenser cleaned things up and departed within approx 1 hour time frame. He managed to get the door to work and bought me some time until I can purchase a new microwave. The intermittent problem we had did not occur during his visit so he went ahead and checked out the entire range top. Leo is very knowledgeable and helpful regarding my sub-zero refrigerator. He explained to me some easy tips on how to maintain the life of the sub-zero. It was obvious he enjoyed the work he does.
Robert came out to fix our freezer because the alarm kept going off. He figured out the problem quickly, cleaned the refrigerator and freezer then left. Later that evening the alarm went off again and Robert was back at our house the next day and took care of the problem. Your receptionists are great. They are helpful and knowledgable and made me feel like our issue was very important to them. Great customer service.
Early in March, the temperature in the refrigerator section of my Sub-Zero 700 TCI began rising above the value set, and its SERVICE light was flashing. I had Box Appliance in for repair, and Joe W. arrived on March 6, well within the promised service window. Joe diagnosed the problem as a refrigerant leak, but said that parts would have to be ordered before permanent repairs could be made. But he added refrigerant to get my refrigerator functioning again until the parts arrived. Thank goodness for that! When the parts arrived I asked for an early-in-the day service window, and was promised 8-10am on March 20. Excellent! Bob and Ramero arrived early in that window, and did a LOT of work to get my refrigerator repaired within two hours. Both Bob and Ramero are good guys, and I was pleased to have them in my home.

The refrigerator section of my Sub-Zero 700 TCI failed on Thurs, Jan 5, 2012. I called Box Appliance, and was promised service between 10am and 1pm on Jan 6. Joe arrived at 10:55am on Jan 6, well within the promised time frame, and had my refrigerator working again shortly. I was very thankful for the speedy service.

Both Stephane and Kelly provided exceptional service. Stephane arranged for us to be fit into Kellys already tight schedule on the day he was in our area. She also had our parts ordered promptly so that Kelly was able to repair our Sub Zero the next day. Kelly was all business, yet personable while repairing our refrigerator. It was evident he was an expert at his job and even gave us tips for up keep. Both of these employees were professional, friendly and excellent at their job! Robert was the technician that worked on our Sub Zero refrigerated drawers. He was prompt, friendly and very experienced. He was able to diagnose the issue very quickly and let me know what the job would entail. He also noticed that some work that was done previously by another repair firm was not up to Sub Zero standards and would cause additional repair issues in the near future. He discussed it with Sub Zero, got their OK to fix it and make the additional repair, all under warranty! I really appreciate the extra effort Robert made to fix the prior mistakes made by another firm. This makes Box Appliance stand above all others in terms of quality service and repairs!

Our experience with Kevin was entirely positive. We have decided, based on our experience with Box Appliance, that if the occasion arises that we need a new refrigerator we will get a Sub-Zero. We had a problem with our SubZero refrigerator, that required several call backs where parts were defective and had to be replaced. I think Box Appliance service was exceptional in getting the problem resolved.

While it took several trips and more than 30 days for Kelly to fix the series of problems that were causing the temperature of our refrigerator to vary considerably, there was never any doubt in our minds that his methodical trouble shooting would lead to the resolution of each problem. He kept us well-informed about what he was doing and what he intended to do next if additional work was required. Throughout the period we really appreciated the fact that he always worked quickly and neatly with minimum of disruption in our very small kitchen. His extraordinarily polite, professional demeanor was greatly appreciate. For what more could we ask?

Walter was the nicest, friendliest, and professional. He gave us good advice about the upkeep and suggestions about keeping the condensors clean. We probably need a stronger ventilation system for our Wolf range. We told Walter that the Wolf range and Sub-zero frig was in the house when we bought it and we wondered if the vent was strong enough. We are looking to replace the range top as it is a professional model that I dont think is sold to residental homes. I dont see it on Sub-zeros website.

I requested service for what I thought was the problem – condensation from defective door gaskets. The service rep Robert identified the real problem as a defective evaporator. While the repair cost more than expected, the results are good. The 14-year old refrigerator works like new again.
